Olivia Wilde is NOT the new Lara Croft in Tomb Raider redo!

Ashleigh Hill-Buxton October 30, 2011 Movie News

The “Tron Legacy” actress is stepping into the padded-bra previously adorned by Angelina Jolie in the “Tomb Raider” reboot, says Brazillian site Cinepop.

Update! : Or is she? Did Cinepop take a comment out of context or did they misintepret her? Or maybe the negotiations fell through? Whatever the case, Wilde took to Twitter to debunk their claim that she’d been cast as Croft.

Previously…

Wilde reportedly confirmed the casting in an interview with the site, adding that Mark Fergus (“First Snow”, writer of “Cowboys & Aliens”, which Wilde was in) is directing the flick. Fergus co-wrote the script with Hawk Ostby (“Iron Man”).

Wilde, who career has gone from strength-to-strength since playing the lesbian bartender in Calisoap “The OC”, says she’s a fan of the character – who originates from the pixels on a video-game monitor – and is looking forward to raiding tombs on the big screen.

Guessing this one might be officially announced at AFM..

Thoughts?
