Now this one I’m really looking forward to. I’ve read the script (you can read my thoughts on it here) and found it to be, surprisingly (these film adaptations of old TV shows are usually the lukewarm noodle soup of cinema) good. It’s very funny, sweet (in that ‘John Hughes’ style) and has a couple of good action sequences in there. I also think Jonah Hill might surprise people in this one – he’s not only ditched the weight, he’s ditched the foul-mouthed funnyman routine for it too. At it’s worst, “21 Jump Street” will be sort of a contemporary “Stakeout”.
