Bryan Fuller’s script for “The Munsters”, received just two weeks ago by the brass at NBC, has already been greenlit to go to pilot. The reboot of the classic Fred Gwynne series is said to be a visually-spectacular one-hour offering that’ll likely air in the Summer.
Comedy Central has renewed “South Park” for a further three seasons (what!? That show is still on!?). “The collective genius of Matt and Trey knows no bounds,” Comedy Central’s president Michele Ganeless said in a press release published at Deadline. “Week after week and season after season they continue to surprise and delight South Park fans, and that includes all of us here at Comedy Central. We’re thrilled that the adventures of Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman will continue through 2016.”
The terrific Yankee reboot of “Prime Suspect”, featuring a bravura Maria Bello in the old Helen Mirren role, looks to be kaput. The cast and crew of the low-rater have been told the production is shutting down. The network are said to be still weighing out their options, which means the show could return in some form or another, but at this point it looks like it’s dead.
Speaking of NBC, they’ve released their mid-season schedule – dates for “The Firm”, “Smash” and so on – have been announced – and “Community” isn’t on it. The show is still continuing to film episodes, so it hasn’t been cancelled, but it’s also not looking good for the cult craving. Still, the network have issued a response to the claims that the Joel McHale starrer isn’t coming back by saying it will… sometime. Maybe.
