Which actors are up for the role of Tetsuo in Akira?

They’ve nailed down Garrett Hedlund to play Kaneda, and Kristen Stewart has been offered the role of Ky Reed, “a woman who is part of an underground movement to expose the government for turning orphans into living weapons”, now the big brass on “Akira” are in a scramble to find a Tetsuo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warners and director Jaume Collet-Serra are testing a number of dependable young male actors for the part of a young man whose powers unleash the ultimate powerful being known as Akira. It’s expected that a Tetsuo will be found by Thanksgiving.

D.J Cotrona – the one-time ‘Superman’ (he was to play the role in George Miller’s ill-fated “Justice League” movie) cum “G.I Joe 2” pack member.

Logan Marshal Green – the one-time “OC” star who went on to star in M.Night Shyamalan’s “Devil”. Good chops on him.

Toby Kebbell – You’ll remember him from his terrific turn in Guy Ritchie’s “RocknRolla”.

Richard Madden – Rob Stark in “Game of Thrones”. Yeah, he’s quite good.

Rami Malek – One of the more memorable performers in Spielberg & Hanks’ “Pacific” mini-series.

Michael Pitt – the Indy darling whose vast array of credits include “The Dreamers”, “Last Days” and TV’s “Boardwalk Empire”.

Also retesting for the role are Paul Dano (”Cowboys & Aliens”) and Alden Ehrenreich (”Tetro”).

Who do you think should or could get the gig?
