“True Justice”, the Steven Seagal starring action series that has since been broken up into two-hour episodes and released as individual movies on DVD, is getting a second shot at platforming in it’s original form.
ReelzChannel has picked up the series, in which Seagal’s character leads a hardcore undercover team of Seattle based cops who take on gangs, drug lords and crime syndicates as they fight to clean up the streets, for it’s full 13-episode run.
You’ll find the “True Justice” episodes on DVD under such titles as “Deadly Crossing” and “Street Wars”.
Barry Bostwick, ‘The Mayor’ on “Spin City”, and Julie Hagerty, of “Flying High” fame, will play the parents of the lead character in the new Conan O’Brien produced sitcom for TBS. “It centers on Mark (Jay Malone), a family man who quits his day job and returns to the neighborhood where he grew up. There, he reunites with his quirky childhood best friend Roland (David Neher), who still lives with his parents (Bostwick, Hagerty), who have lived in the same suburban house for 40 years.”
One of the more entertaining offerings of the fall season may be headed for an early grave. ABC has ordered only one more episode of the series, starring Christina Ricci and Margot Robbie, bringing the total number of episodes to 14. The network has not announced their plans for the series post-the fourteen episodes but Karine Vanasse tweeted that the cast and crew have “received THE call” and that “Pan Am is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas”. Shame, it was quite a decent series.
Christopher Meloni (“Law & Order : SVU”, “Harold and Kumar”) is being courted for a starring role in the fifth season of HBO’s sexy vampire/werewolf/fairy/slutty-preachers-wife series. Meloni, who is currently shooting “Man of Steel”, will play a “incredibly powerful vampire” on the show.
Hart of Dixie
Enjoyable but struggling CW series “Hart of Dixie”, starring Rachel Bilson as Michael J.Fox in “Doc Hollywood”, has snagged “Ghostbusters” star Ernie Hudson to play the father of Cress Williams’ Lavon Hayes.
Ernie will play, er, Ernie, who comes to town with bad news for his son.
