Sony’s latest film – based on the third in the series of novels written by Thomas Perry – will be adapted by screenwriter Matt Wheeler, according to Deadline.com.

“The Informant” tells the story about a hit-man bent on avenging the death of his father, and a Department of Justice official determined to destroy the mafia; things get interesting when the two realise that they’re after the same people.

Wheeler is a recent graduate of the UCLA’s screenwriting program.
