Seemingly tired of waiting around to hear whether Paramount want a “Cloverfield” sequel (If it hasn’t already happened, it ain’t), Lizzy Caplan is headed back to the safe and secure confines of Television.
The former “Party Down” star is joining big time film regular Michael Sheen (“The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part 1”, “The Special Relationship”) – who replaced Paul Bettany – for the new Showtime series “Masters of Sex”.
Deadline says Sheen’s portraying 1960s human sexuality pioneer William Masters, while Caplan’s been cast as Virginia Johnson, whose research touched off the sexual revolution.
The pilot begins lensing in New York next month.
No word yet on whether Michael Douglas will serve as a consultant on the series.
