Ellen Barkin (“Switch”) is doing “The New Normal”, a new NBC series from “Glee” creators Ryan Murphy and Allison Adler. The show is “described as a heartwarming comedy about a blended family of a gay couple, with Andrew Rannells playing one of the guys, and the woman who becomes a surrogate to help them start a family. Jon Voight and Elliot Gould, two seasoned vets who know their way around some stout dialogue and meaty material, are joining the cast of the new pilot “Ray Donovan”. Liev Schreiber plays a “fix-it” man who can mend the broken careers or reputations of high-profile celebs or public figures, but can’t seem to fix his own life. Voight (“Heat”) will play Schreiber’s father; Gould (“Ocean’s Eleven”) is a senior partner at a law firm who is Ray’s mentor and confidante.

John Cusack and Evan Peters (“American Horror Story”) have joined the cast of “Adult World”, a new Emma Roberts vehicle currently filming in upstate New York. Scott Coffey directs. “Roberts plays 21-year old Amy Anderson, a recent college graduate with a degree in poetry. Convinced she is the next star in the literary world, moves back with her parents to write poetry — but with a stack of rejection letters, unpaid student loans, and no money, her parents force her to get a “real job.” The only place that will hire her is an erotic bookstore called Adult World. Cusack plays Rat Billings, Amy’s hero and mentor who was one of the greatest poets of the early ’90s.” (Deadline)
