Christine Daniels (“Flash Forward”) will star in the new multicamera NBC comedy pilot ”Daddy’s Girls.” centers on Pen (Woods), a responsible, guarded, brilliant but emotionally challenged Harvard Medical School graduate who just returned from a stint with Doctors Without Borders to discover that her beloved dentist dad, Robert, has become engaged to Pen’s high school classmate Holly –a 29 year old bubbly, gorgeous, blonde who happens to be the “mean girl” in high school. Blythe Danner (“”), Sarah Bolger (”The Tudors”) and Madeline Zima (”Californication”) will star in the Shonda Rhimes executive produced series, set in the 1800’s, and fixing on ” the opening of the first luxury hotel in the city and the intermingling of love, treachery and disdain between the classes. It centers on the rich Lily clan that owns the hotel. Bolger will play the rebellious Violet Lily. Danner will play Violet’s grandmother Caroline Lily, the family’s wickedly funny matriarch widow. Zima will play Violet’s personal maid.”
Mike Vogel (“Texas Chainsaw Massacre”) is the lead in Fox’s single-camera comedy pilot “Living Loaded”. ” Based on the book of the same name by Dan Dunn, it centers on Dan (Vogel), the loose partying blogger of the popular Living Loaded blog who is forced to change his career plans when he becomes an NPR radio host.” Vogel most recently starred on the airborne drama “Pan Am”.
Becki Newton (“Ugly Betty”) will play one of the roles in Fox’s new single-camera comedy about ” three siblings, one played by Newton, who reconnect after the death of their father.”
Untitled Ryan Phillippe Project
The “Crash” and “Cruel Intentions” star will co-star in a new untitled Nick Wootton-Greg Berlanti drama pilot about “[a] cop Clark (Phillippe) and chronicles his meteoric rise from officer to detective and ultimately police commissioner.” Chi McBride (“The Frighteners”) and Kevin Alejandro (“True Blood”) are already onboard.
In a wonderful surprise, John Goodman has been enlisted to rejoin former ”Roseanne” co-star Roseanne Barr on her new sitcom ”Downwardly Mobile”. The NBC sitcom will feature “Barr as the proprietor of a mobile home park and surrogate mother to all of the unique people who live there in a challenging economy. Goodman will play a man who works at the park and has a buddy relationship with Barr’s character.”
Ving Rhames (“Piranha 3D”) will play the resident trauma chief in the new David E.Kelley hospital drama. Alfred Molina, Jennifer Finnigan, Jamie Bamber and Bill Irwin are also onboard.
Sullivan & Son
The Vince Vaughan executive produced sitcom, starring comedian Steve Byrne as the youngest member of a family that owns a bar, has been picked up by TBS. The sow, also featuring “Wonder Years” alum Dan Lauria, will receive a 10-episode run in the Summer.
A TV series based on the Paul Bettany-starrer “Legion” is in the works over at SyFy. The feature’s director Scott Stewart is going to direct and executive produce the series, which will be written by Vaun Wilmott (”Sons Of Anarchy”).
Jason Stamos is a lock to star in the Fox comedy about “man (Stamos) who finds out that he has a half-brother (T.J Miller) he never knew who also happens to be an ex-con.”
