Middle Earth and Tomb Raider survivors, respectively, Orlando Bloom and Djimon Hounsou are teaming for ”Zulu”, based on the novel by Caryl Férey.

Screen Daily says Frenchman Jérôme Salle is helming.

The pic tells of “two Cape Town police officers (Bloom, Honsou) who investigate the murder of a 18 year-old girl, the daughter of a member of the championship winning Sprikboks rugby team,” a job that ultimately “reveals ties to the country’s apartheid past.”

Production begins in July.
