Exclusive : Ashley Greene to gnaw into ABC soap

As I exclusively reported earlier in the week, Ashley Greene (“Twilight”, “Skateland”, “The Apparition”) has been atop of ABC’s wish-list to play the female lead in their series “Americana”.

The show, starring Anthony LaPaglia, Emilie de Ravin, Natalie Mendoza and Ken Olin, revolves around an iconic fashion designer (LaPaglia) and his family business.

I can now confirm that negotiations with Greene have closed. The actress is onboard to play the daughter of Ken Olin’s character (but in true soap fashion, a paternity test may be on the cards) – he’s playing LaPaglia’s brother.

“North Country” scribe Michael Seitzman is writing and executive producing the series.

Greene will be seen on TV screens later this year, when “Americana” debuts on ABC.
