You’ll have read a few days ago (read the original report here) that Joel Kinnaman, the young up-and-comer from AMC’s “The Killing”, was in line to play the title character (and his pre-robot self, Alex Murphy) in the “RoboCop” remake that MGM is doing.

Well, that deal has just come off. Deadline reported a few minutes back that Kinnaman, who has a role in Universal’s “Safe House”, is all set to put on the metal.

Jose Padhila is directing; Josh Zetumer wrote the script.
