Jessica Lucas, formerly of the short-lived “Melrose Place” reboot, is in talks to join the “Evil Dead” remake.

Newcomer Elizabeth Blackmore is also up for a part in the Fede Avalrez directed relaunch of the Sam Raimi-helmed franchise.

The Hollywood Reporter says Lucas will play “the best friend of the girl going through withdrawal (Jane Levy) who is also a nurse” and “Blackmore is playing the fiancĂ©e of Fernandez and new to the group.”

The film, also starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez and Lou Taylor Pucci, will begin production next month in New Zealand.
