“The Fighter” actress Melissa Leo has been cast and will join Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko in Joseph Kosinski’s “Oblivion” according to Deadline.

Already filming in Baton Rouge, the film takes place in a future where humanity has fallen to an irradiated Earth. Cruise plays Jack, a maintenance drone working on the planet’s surface alongside another worker, Vika (Olga Kurylenko). When a woman, Julia (Andrea Riseborough), is discovered in a crashed ship, Jack’s whole world is thrown into question and he finds himself strangely drawn towards Julia.

No word yet on who Leo will be playing in the sci-fi film, scheduled to open on April 26, 2013.

Leo will next be seen in the Robert Zemeckis-directed Denzel Washington-starrer “Flight”, and she’s currently shooting the third season of HBO’s Treme.
