Guy Ritchie gets WB’s map to Treasure Island

Guy Ritchie, no doubt off the back of the “Sherlock Holmes” money he’s helped score them, has been chosen by Warner Bros to direct a new big-screen version of “Treasure Island”.

Alex Harakis’s script, says Deadline, will be a stylized twist on the Robert Louis Stevenson literary classic (much in the same way Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes” films were stylized updates of the original Arthur Conan Doyle books).

Personally, glad to see Ritchie doing something like this than being suckered into doing another “Sherlock Holmes” movie – that last one was dreary.
