Good news, purists.

The “Dirty Dancing” remake has been put on hold.

According to THR, “High School Musical” director Kenny Ortega, who was a choreographer for the original, was set to direct the film, which was scheduled for a July, 2013 release.

Lionsgate say the movie won’t be ready in time because they need to allow more time for casting.

Does anybody else hope it just goes away quietly?
