Philip Seymour Hoffman to take control of The Hunger Games?

Philip Seymour Hoffman, stupendous in flicks like “Almost Famous” and “The Ides of March”, has been offered the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games : Catching Fire”.

Hoffman, who has played delicious villains in films like “Mission Impossible 3″ and “Patch Adams”, would play the new gamemaster, the sly designer and manager to succeed Seneca Crane.

Deadline says Hoffman has yet to accept the role, and he might not, but it is only a small part so it wouldn’t require too much time out of the actor’s busy schedule.

“Constantine” helmer Francis Lawrence directs “Catching Fire” for a November 22, 2013 release.
