Kenneth Branagh will not only direct the “Jack Ryan” reboot, he’ll co-star in it.

Branagh will play the villain of the flick, a reboot of the series that kicked off with “The Hunt for Red October” in 1990, who’ll go head-to-head with a younger incarnation of the Tom Clancy-created character, played this time by Chris Pine.

The Hollywood Reporter says Branagh would be “Viktor Stazov, a financial wiz who, with the help of the Russian government, masterminds a plot to devalue American currency and thus destroy the U.S. economy.”

Really looking forward to this – particularly with Branagh involved behind and in-front of the camera (and great that ‘Ryan’ franchise staple Mace Neufeld is also involved).
