This might throw a spanner in the works of that new “Austin Powers” sequel; Paramount has locked up a James Bond spoof from Sacha Baron Cohen.
The pitch from Sacha Baron Cohen and Phil Johnston, says THR, involves a James Bond-like spy who “is forced to go on the run with his long-lost brother, a moronic soccer hooligan,” according to the studio.
Baron Cohen may play a role in the film – he should play against type and be the suave 007-type! – but it will depend on what else he has going on at the time.
