Shia LaBeouf (“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”) will ‘swing’ over to Lars Von Trier’s next. The two-part drama, to begin lensing in September, will be released in two separate versions – one smuttier than the other. (THR)
Eternally spunkful Kim Basinger (“Batman”, “8 Mile”) will star in the drama, playing the mother of a troubled kid who finds a mentor in the guy next door, a basketball coach. Alec Baldwin unlikely to co-star. (THR)
The Hunger Games : Catching Fire
The latest chap to find a match lit beneath the surface of his rumbling gut is Bruno Gunn (“Prison Break”), cast in the role of Brutus in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel ”Catching Fire”. Brutus is a former Career victor from District 2.
Foxy Stacee Jaxx humprat Malin Akerman is in talks to join Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington and Joe Manganiello in the DEA-agents-go-stealing actioner. The “Rock of Ages” and “Watchmen” star would play a member of the ten-man DEA agent team who goes looting. (Variety)
Queen of the Night
Apparently not a drag comedy, Ryan Reynolds is onboard Atom Egoyan’s film which will see him play “a father who discovers a series of disturbing clues eight years after his daughter is abducted” and “he becomes determined to find her when the trail leads him to believe the now 17-year old girl is alive.” Psychological thrills ensue.
