Might Jim Carrey, a self-confessed “Kick-Ass” fan and a star of comic book movies “Batman Forever” and “The Mask”, be enticed to join Universal’s “Kick-Ass 2”?
Deadline says that’s currently Uni and director Jeff Wadlow’s plan, to rope Carrey in to play superhero Colonel Stars, a character that leads a superhero team named Justice Forever.
Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Robert Emms, Yancy Butler and Morris Chestnut are locks for the sequel to 2010 hit directed by Matthew Vaughn.
Carrey, who next appears in “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”, was expected to shoot the recently-delayed “Dumb & Dumber” sequel this year. The actor pulled out of the sequel citing creative differences with the studio, but co-star Jeff Daniels has suggested in recent weeks that Carrey might be back onboard.
