Berg and Kruger remaking Cronenberg’s Videodrome

Commercials director Adam Berg will direct Uni’s remake of “Videodrome”.

The original David Cronenberg flick told of a station programmer that boosts ratings with a new series that sees folks getting tortured and killed for reals. The 1983 film was a precursor for things to come, it seems.

The remake, scripted by Ehren Kruger (“Scream 3″), will encompass a much bigger budget and utilize the elements of nano-technology, according to Deadline.
