Clive Owen may play the villain in “RoboCop”, if MGM’s courting comes off.
Deadline says Owen is one of several actors in consideration to play the lead bad guy in the film. Hugh Laurie was expected to take on the role but announced his sudden disinterest this week.
With the film, a remake of the 1987 classic, already attracting the A-list likes of Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Jackie Earle Haley, Abbie Cornish and Jay Baruchel I’m sure it’ll be fairly easy for the studio to engage a big name – like Owen – to the part.
