Jim Carrey may have officially signed for Kick-Ass 2!

Has Jim Carrey officially signed for “Kick-Ass 2″!?

Well, be still-my-heart, seems so!

You’ll recall reading that Carrey was offered the role of The Colonel in director Jeff Wadlow’s “Kick-Ass 2 : Balls to the Wall” a few weeks back. You might also recall hearing little else but denials and crickets since. Well, until today…

Here’s a recently posted tweet from director Wadlow.. complete with a most-excellent ‘Ace Ventura’ reference:

Oh. Wow.

Yes, it’s possible that Wadlow has simply chosen to use an ‘Ace Ventura’ quote in place of an exclamation park to express his excitement in casting the part of the Colonel… but why not another film, then? Why a film quote directly associated with an actor whose been linked to his movie for weeks now?

Quietly cautious, Excitedly optimistic.

“Kick-Ass 2 : Balls to the Wall”, stars Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Claudia Lee, Lyndsy Fonseca, Lindy Booth, Morris Chestnut, Yancy Butler, Garrett M.Brown… and Jim Carrey!?, and is due out next June.
