Bruce Willis back in Jackal territory for American Assassin

Bruce Willis is in talks to star in director Jeffrey Nachmanoff’s (“Traitor”) “American Assassin”, according to Variety.

The pic revolves around Mitch Rapp, a former Syracuse grad student who joins the CIA after his girlfriend his killed by a terrorist attack. Willis will play a CIA operative who serves as a mentor to Rapp.

Mike Finch wrote the script; Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (“Red”) will produce.

The hunt now begins to find a young actor to play the assassin Willis’s character mentors in the movie.

“American Assassin” will go into production in the Fall of 2013.
