Has Wyatt left Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel?

With a May, 2014 release date locked in before even a metre of film has rolled, let alone a blob of whiteout applied to a script, seems “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” director Rupert Wyatt may have gone cold on the sequel. The rushed production schedule, says Deadline, drives rumours that the filmmaker may have left Fox’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”.

Pity, if so, because “Rise” wasn’t just a decent addition to the long running “Apes” franchise, but it was a damn solid genre addition overall. Much of the credit goes to Wyatt too.

Guess we’ll find out if there’s any truth to the rumour in due time.
