Guy Pearce reunites with director John Hillcoat (“The Proposition”, “The Road”) for the action-packed, liquid-fueled crime drama “Lawless”.

It’s been a big year for the Aussie actor, what with “Prometheus”, “Lockout”, “Seeking Justice” and the “Jack Irish” telemovies, and “Lawless” is the icing on the cake. Set in Depression-era Franklin County, the Nick Cave written venture tells of a Virginian-based bootlegging gang that is threatened by a new deputy and other authorities who want a cut of their profits. Pearce plays one of the imminent threats – and with great panache.

Mandy Griffiths caught up with the Melbournian at a recent press day for the film.

“Lawless” is released October 11
