Seems the “Masters of the Universe” movie series will be forever linked to ‘The Expendables’.

Dolph Lundgren was, of course, the first actor to play He-Man on the big screen (in the 1987 film), and now word’s out that Richard Wenk, who co-wrote “The Expendables 2″, is on script duties, according to Variety.

Wenk, who also worked on “The Mechanic”, is rewriting a script that Jon M.Chu will direct.

Sony and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch produce the film, a new take on the classic cartoon series and feature film.
