Effective immediately, Chevy Chase will no longer be a part of NBC’s “Community”.
No big surprise, considering Chase’s run-in’s with series creator Dan Harmon, as well as his progressive dislike for the direction his character was headed. Still, the comic legend is a huge part of the series and his absence will not only be felt, but it’ll likely probably push NBC to axe the already-struggling sitcom.
The bulk of the show’s fourth season has been shot, according to Deadline. It’s unclear whether or not Chase’s character Pierce Hawthorne will get a proper send-off, or his departure will be explained verbally on-screen.
