Daniel Bruhl (“Inglourious Basterds”) has stepped in for James McAvoy over on Bill Condon’s Wikileaks flick.

The German actor will play Daniel Domscheit-Berg, Julian Assange’s right-hand man, who McAvoy had been in deep discussions to play before his “X-Men : Days of Future Past” commitments got in the way.

Benedict Cumberbatch (“Sherlock”) is playing Julian Assange.

The Hollywood Reporter, who broke the news on Bruhl’s anointment to hacker-ville, adds that reports linking Laura Linney to the project are incorrect.

The untitled project was penned by Josh Singer.
