The Golden Globes : Who Snagged a Nomination?

globes

Like Nick Curran in “Basic Instinct”, many waited in anticipation for the Golden Globe Nominations to be unveiled this morning.

As expected, “Argo”, “Zero Dark Thirty”, “Les Miserables”, “Lincoln”, “Life of Pi” and “Silver Linings Playbook” got nods. Also not surprisingly, “Dark Knight Rises” and “Skyfall” were unfairly snubbed.

I saw “Hitchcock” this morning, and while I welcome Helen Mirren’s nomination as Alma, I wasn’t that taken with Anthony Hopkins performance as ‘Hitch’. He was adequate, but for the most part, phoned it in. Not surprised Hopkins missed out this year on a nomination, though his people must be kicking themselves they didn’t nudge their client into giving that one a little more oomph.
