There’s nothing like a good warm and fuzzy down the back of the neck (mind out of the gutter, kids!) while you’re watching a flick. Most get jabbed with the feel-good needle while taking in an underdog sports movie, or some kind of sweeping romantic drama about star-crossed lovers who thwart all to become one, but really, you can get your inspiring movie tune from anyone. The ’80s gave us so many memorable movie moments, but just as many apt screen-overlaying songs. It was such a huge thing for an artist to get one of their songs on a movie soundtrack in the ’80s – likely even more so than today.

Here’s 30 of the best bits of movie music, according to the Moviehole gang!

Warning : The current list features frequent use of the name “Kenny Loggins”.
