Former “Buffy” star Sarah Michelle Gellar is looking to claim a stake in prime-time TV again.
The actress, whose series “Ringer” was recently given the chop by The CW, is developing a comedy vehicle over at 20th Century Fox.
Interestingly enough, Gellar’s former “Buffy” co-star Alyson Hannigan has had much success with her on Fox sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” for the better part of a decade now.
TV Line says the sitcom would be about what the parents get up to when the kids aren’t at home.
Shepard Boucher’s script, now with Gellar attached, is being shopped to networks over the next few weeks.
Gellar got her big break with 20th Century Fox Television when she was cast as the plucky, monster-killing slayer in “Buffy” in the late ’90s.
