Dominic Cooper (“Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter”) is set to play James Bond author Ian Fleming in a four-part mini-series for Sky Atlantic, says Variety.

Directed by Mat Whitecross and Written by John Brownlow and Don Macpherson, “Fleming” will chronicle Fleming’s years as a soldier in WWII, where he worked as British Naval Intelligence against the Nazis. The war backdrop, and his experiences as an officer, influenced Fleming’s creation of the James Bond character, the central character in a series of popular books he’d write.

Duncan Jones (“Source Code”) is also developing a project on Fleming; his film, unlike the mini-series, is the only project that has snared the blessing of Fleming’s estate.
