Award winning Australian actress Toni Collette has been cast to star CBS’ ‘Homeland’-esque style drama “Hostages”. This Jerry Bruckheimer-produced TV series will be directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (”Homeland”, ”Chicago Fire”, ”The Day After Tomorrow”).

According to Variety, the series is based on an Israeli format. “Hostages” centers on a female surgeon living in D.C. who is chosen to operate on the President. She becomes part of a political conspiracy when her family is taken hostage and placed in harms way.
