Kodi Smit-McPhee (“Let Me In”, “Matching Jack”) will join fellow Aussie Jason Clarke in the “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” sequel, reports Deadline.

20th Century Fox’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” is set 15 years after the last movie and sees the world essentially overrun by the hairy buggers. The main characters are said to be San Francisco-based scientists who are trying to prevent the Apes – led by Caesar, of course – from completely obliterating the human race.

The film reunites Smith-McPhee with his “Let Me In” director Matt Reeves.
