Dragon Tattoo helmer to remake Flatliners

I don’t that if we need one, but if really insists on making supernatural classic “Flatliners” (still a really spooky film!) then let it be with someone like Niels Arden Oplev at the helm.

Oplev, the director of the Swedish “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, will be working from a script by “Source Code” writer Ben Ripley, says Bloody Disgusting. With his penchant for dark themes, Oplev might possibly be able to make something pretty special out of a “Flatliners” redo.

Wonder if Oplev will have an all-star cast like Joel Schumacher’s original did!? (though, I guess, besides Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts and Kevin Bacon, some of the others in the cast – like William Baldwin and Oliver Platt were nobodies back then?). Maybe he’ll recruit Noomi Rapace to play the Julia Roberts role?
