David O.Russell’s Abscam drama out December

David O. Russell – along with fellow “Silver Linings Playbook” stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper – looks set to partake in next year’s awards season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sony intends to release Russell’s as-yet untitled Abscam drama in the heart of awards season; it will be released for a limited run on December 13 before expanding nationwide on Christmas Day.
The films tells the story of the famous FBI sting that uncovered several Capitol Hill lawmakers in a scheme that saw them exchange political favours for hefty bribes throughout the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

Megan Ellison’s Annapuma Pictures and Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment have produced and financed the drama, which also features Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner, Amy Adams and Louis C.K.
