Michael Angarano, the young gun who traded wires with Jackie Chan and Jet Li in “The Forbidden Kingdom” before being put through his paces by ‘Silent Bob’ on “Red State”, has been roped to co-star alongside Jason Statham in “Heat”, according to Deadline.

A remake of a Burt Reynolds film- not the Michael Mann movie – “Heat” features Statham as ”Nick, a recovering gambling addict working as a for-hire tough guy… Angarano will play Cyrus Kinnick (portrayed in the original by Peter MacNicol), a tech billionaire who hires Nick as a bodyguard and gambling tutor.”

“Expendables 2″ helmer Simon West is in charge of the pic.
