“The Reluctant Fundamentalist” tells of a young Pakistani man who is chasing corporate success on Wall Street. He finds himself embroiled in a conflict between his American Dream, a hostage crisis, and the enduring call of his family’s homeland.
Though it carries themes from her previous films, it’s a very different picture, with a very different story, for filmmaker Mira Nair.
Justine Browning talks to the director of “Monsoon Wedding” and “The Namesake” about this ‘Chase for the American Dream’ jaunt.
