Aussie director Brian Trenchard-Smith will direct John Cusack in the actioner “Hard Drive”. The Voltage Pictures release is “the story of an American thief who travels overseas and tricks an ex-Formula 1 champion into becoming his getaway driven.” Principal photography on the film is skedded for June 3. DNA/Fox Searclight’s film sees the twosome “play Bathsheba Everdine and Gabriel Oak in the story of the ill-fated passions of a willful young woman and her three suitors”. Patrick Fugit will headline “The List” for co-writers Harris Goldberg & Kristen D’Alessio. Goldberg is directing and D’Alessio is producing the Los Angeles-lensed film, in which Fugit “plays a young man who undertakes the task of fulfilling a self-improvement list to secure the girl of his dreams. The journey triggers a reexamination of his true self, values and perspective on life.” Shooting is getting underway in Los Angeles, with Jennifer Morrison, Karen Gillan, Aaron Staton, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Giles Martini, Jobeth Williams and Victoria Tennant.(Deadline)
