Oscar Winner Forest Whitaker (“The Last King of Scotland”, TVs “The Shield”) is playing Martin Luther King in Paul Greengrass’s “Memphis”, according to The Wrap.

The film, which will be shot once Greengrass (“The Bourne Supremacy”) completes work on his latest film, “Captain Phillips”, is one that’s been on the filmmaker’s to-do list for a while.

The movie will explore many facets of King’s life, notably the protest march he put together in Memphis where he’d ultimately be assassinated.
