Justin Long (“Live Free or Die Hard”) and Emmy Rossum (“Shameless”) are starring in the quirky romantic comedy “Comet”. Writer/director Sam Esmail’s film is set in a parallel universe and bounces back and forth over the course of an unlikely but perfectly paired couple’s six-year relationship. “Comet is about the drama, comedy and utterly surreal state of heartbreak — a subject in which I am well versed,” the writer-director explained. Javier Bardem has signed for two : He’ll be in “The Gunman” with Sean Penn, from director Pierre Morel, and J.C. Chandor’s next film, ”A Most Violent Year” (Deadline)

Mia Wasikowsa (“Stoker”) is set to replace Emma Stone in Guillermo Del Toro’s “Crimson Peak”. The supernatural thriller also stars Charlie Hunnam, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jessica Chastain (The Wrap)

Paul Giamatti (“The Hangover Part II”) will join Paul Dano and John Cusack in the Beach Boys bio “Love and Mercy”. The actor will play Brian Wilson’s therapist. (The Wrap)

“Games of Thrones” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is in talks to play the Egyptian God Horus in ”Gods of Egypt.” Pic tells of “the god of the sky (Coster-Waldau), who teams up with a human thief and Hathor, the goddess of love, on a magical quest to avenge the death of his father, Osiris.” (The Wrap)

Don Johnson (“Django Unchained”) is set to play Cameron Diaz’s father in the comedy “The Other Woman” (The Hollywood Reporter)
