Witherspoon and Vegara team up for female-driven buddy comedy

Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara are attached to a spec titled “Don’t Mess with Texas” for Universal.

The film would team the “Legally Blonde” and “Machete Kills” stars in a “a female driven comedy about a cop and a prisoner on the run in Texas, with crooked cops in hot pursuit” according to news mongers, Deadline.

The spec was penned by John Quaintance & David Feeney. Plans are afoot to get the flick before lenses around March 2014.
