Another Diesel-powered science-fiction franchise on the way

If only to give him something new to talk about on Facebook, Vin Diesel has signed to star in and produce a new science-fiction movie called “Soldiers of the Sun”.

Like anything else he’s involved in at the moment, the film is designed to be a franchise (“these muscles don’t pay for themselves, yo!”).

Arash Amel (”Grace of Monaco”)’s script is set in a post-apocalyptic future (as opposed to a “bright, happy and very vibrant future full of munchkins”) where soldiers do battle with an alien race named Orcs. Vin’s soldier guy, like his colleagues, are on a mission to find the legendary city of gold in Mexico.

Once there, I’m predicting he has a run-in with Danny Trejo.
