2. Ice Cube will reprise his potty-mouthed police Captain role in “22 Jump Street”.

4. Sophie Cookson has landed the female lead in director Matthew Vaughn’s “The Secret Service”, starring opposite Colin Firth.

5. Joel Edgerton is in talks to star in “Shantaram”, about an escaped Australian convict on route to Bombay, for producer Johnny Depp. Depp, who was originally set to play the lead, handpicked Edgerton for the role.

6. A new pic from “Mad Max Fury Road” has been released.

7. The cast of David Fincher’s “Gone Girl” – starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike – got bigger overnight, with Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Neil Patrick Harris and Carrie Coon all confirmed to be joining. Perry is playing “Tanner Bolt, the attorney who reps Affleck’s character after his wife disappears … Dickens and Fugit will play detectives who investigate the mystery in Gone Girl, while Coon will play Affleck’s character’s twin sister,” Margo.

8. Ian McKellan is to play a retired Sherlock Holmes in director Bill Condon’s “A Slight Track of Mind”. In 1947, Sherlock Holmes, long retired, lives in a sleepy Sussex village with his housekeeper and her amateur-sleuthing son. But far from living out a peaceful retirement, he is haunted by an unsolved case from fifty years ago. He remembers only fragments: a confrontation with an angry husband, a secret bond with his beautiful but unstable wife. With his legendary mental powers on the wane, and without his old sidekick Watson, Holmes is faced with the toughest case of his life – a case that might finally reveal to him the mysteries of the human heart.

9. Leonardo DiCaprio will produce a new version of “The Island of Dr Moreau”, with “Hemlock Grove” scribes Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman writing the screenplay.

10. A new featurette for “The Fifth Estate”, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange, is online.
