Jennifer Ehle (who also today was named as an addition to the cast roster of “50 Shades of Grey”), Christopher Plummer, Anson Mount (“Hell on Wheels”), Abigail Spencer (“Oz the Great and Powerful”), Tye Sheridan (Mud”) and Belgian-born actor Marcus Thomas have joined John Travolta in heist film “The Forger”, according to The Wrap.
The Philip Martin directed film is being produced and co-financed by Code Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group.
Here’s the synopsis : Ray Cutter is a master artist — but he was born into a family of lowlife criminals, and he’s become a master art forger (with a minor in imprisonment). After learning that his 15 year old son WILL CUTTER is dying from a brain tumor and has maybe 60 days to live, Ray scrambles to get out of jail to spend a few days with his kid before the darkness closes in. And the price of freedom is high: Ray has to pull off a major art heist in order to settle all his debts…
Travolta plays Ray Cutter, Sheridan is son Will, and Plummer is grandpa Cutter.
Ehle plays Travolta’s fragile ex-wife, Mount is a member of the syndicate (a somewhat bad guy), Spencer is a DEA agent, and Thomas is Ray’s old friend and wingman.
Production started Monday in Boston.
