Saffron Burrows, whose credits include “Knife Fight”, “Troy” and “The Bank Job”, has been enlisted for superhero duty over at ABC.
The ageless fox will play S.H.I.E.L.D agent Victoria Hand on the so-so (well, one did expect it to have a little more Kardashian fat around it’s cheeks, particularly since Whedon’s involved, and Marvel’s been hitting them out of the park for a couple of years now) series “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”, according to our pals at Latino Review.
Marvel Wikia says of the character : Three years before the Skrull Invasion, Victoria Hand was an accountant for S.H.I.E.L.D., who was in a relationship with another agent named Isabelle. Victoria was determined to send a letter informing Director Nick Fury how he was mishandling the War on Terror. Isabelle implored Victoria not to send the letter but Victoria did anyways and was transferred immediately to Portland, Oregon. As a result, Isabelle, furious that she did not listen to her, ended their relationship.
Hopefully they have Hand more to do than exit a relationship door in the series.
Burrows appeared in last week’s episode of “The Crazy Ones”, opposite former Whedon-regular Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The actress also shared some screentime with S.H.I.E.L.D director Nick Fury, albeit in his other guise ‘Samuel L.Jackson’, in 1999’s “Deep Blue Sea”.
