The British rocker is set to return for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”.

Richards will portray Captain Teague, Captain Jack Sparrow’s father, as he did in “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” (2007) and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” (2011), reported The Daily Mail.

“After months of talks, Keith has signed on to rejoin Johnny Depp in this fifth Pirates film,” a source told MailOnline. “Cameras are scheduled to start rolling in October.”

Johnny Depp will play Captain Jack Sparrow and The Daily Mail has also reported that Geoffrey Rush will be back as Barbosa.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will once again see Captain Jack Sparrow racing another pirate to a tressure, this time battling Captain Brand in search of The Trident. Brand is a ghost seeking The Trident to get his revenge on Jack, whom Brand believes is responsible for his death.

Captain Jack Sparrow also has a new love interest; Barbosa’s daughter Carina Smyth.

While at present the role of Carina has not been cast, according to Bleeding Cool, Disney is interested in Rebecca Hall (“The Town”, “Iron Man 3”).

The Daily Mail has also reported that Christopher Waltz (“Django Unchained” and “Inglourious Basterds”) may come on board to play Captain Brand, however Bleeding Cool has declared that “the Waltz part is nothing like a done deal. Indeed, I’d call their story hearsay”.

Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg will direct.
