Divergent director not returning for sequels

Scheduling issues are said to be the reason “Divergent” director Neil Burger isn’t returning for the sequel “Insurgent”, Variety has reported. The sequel was announced by Lionsgate earlier this week, with a release date of March 20th 2015, almost exactly a year after the release of “Divergent” which is due out on the 21st of March next year.

The films are an adaptation of Veronica Roth’s young adult dystopian novels and Lionsgate are clearly hoping they have the same success they have had previously with The Hunger Games and the Twilight Saga.
Lionsgate also announced the release date of the third movie in the trilogy, “Allegiant” for March 18th, 2016.

Lionsgate clearly have a lot of faith in the films, I personally am just glad they didn’t try to split up the 3rd film.
